TechGen Metals Limited has begun an advanced airborne geophysics survey at its Sally Downs Copper and Nickel Project, located 10km south of the Savannah Nickel, Copper, and Cobalt Mine in Western Australia. The survey, conducted by Expert Geophysics, aims to generate bed-rock conductors for drill targeting.


The survey will cover 650-line kilometers at 200m spacing, utilizing the latest geophysics technology. The project area, within the Halls Creek Orogen, contains rock units of the Sally Downs Supersuite, Tickalara Metamorphics, and Dougalls Suite. Despite its prospective geology, previous exploration in the area has been limited, with no prior drilling or electrical geophysics completed.

The survey employs the TargetEM26 (TIME-DOMAIN EM) System and an Airborne Magnetometer System. The TargetEM26 system, a new patent-pending airborne time-domain electromagnetics system, combines the latest achievements in electronics and sophisticated signal processing techniques to deliver high-resolution geoelectrical data.


The Airborne Magnetometer System, developed by Expert Geophysics Limited (EGL), utilizes a Geometrics G822A or Scintrex CB-3 caesium magnetometer sensor. The data acquisition system features EGL proprietary technology and software, recording data on an internal flash disk and displaying it on a color LCD display for post-flight computer processing.
