Brazilian Lithium Projects Acquisition
Lightning Minerals has completed the acquisition of the Caraíbas and Sidrônio lithium projects in the prolific Lithium Valley region of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Managing Director Alex Biggs visited the project areas, confirming the prospectivity of the regional geology. With the acquisition finalized, the company is now focusing on ground reconnaissance, geophysics, and soil sampling to identify drill targets for later this year.
The projects are located near significant lithium resources, including Latin Resources' Colina project and Sigma Lithium's Grota do Cirilo project. The acquisition includes seven tenements totaling 3,372 hectares, with multiple pegmatite showings and significant exploration potential.
Australian Projects Update
In Australia, the Dundas project continues to show strong lithium potential. A 3,820-meter Aircore drilling campaign confirmed elevated lithium values, with peak results of 994ppm lithium. The project area has a broad lithium-in-soil anomaly and is located near Liontown Resources' Buldania project.
At the Mailman Hill gold project, an auger drilling campaign was completed to test a large-scale gold anomaly potentially extending from Cavalier Resources' Crawford Gold Project. The project hosts a JORC-compliant resource and is progressing towards the permitting stage.
Future Plans
Lightning Minerals is planning further exploration activities across its projects. Infill soil sampling and additional Aircore drilling are planned for the Dundas project, while geophysical and LIDAR surveys are being prepared for the Dalmas and Hiver projects in Quebec, Canada.
The company is also evaluating its assets to define the most appropriate expenditure strategy for the remainder of 2024. With a strong cash position of A$3.12 million, Lightning Minerals is well-positioned to advance its exploration efforts.
The acquisition of the Brazilian lithium projects is a transformative step for Lightning Minerals, positioning the company in a highly prospective lithium region. The successful capital raising and ongoing exploration activities demonstrate strong investor confidence and strategic planning. The confirmation of lithium anomalism at the Dundas project further strengthens the company's portfolio.
